The flagship evolves for 2026
OMODA 9 MY26 Updates and Black Noble
OMODA has refined its flagship plug-in hybrid SUV with improved comfort, updated suspension and steering, stronger Vehicle-to-Load capability and a new black-on-black flagship grade.
The updated Noble remains priced from £44,995 OTR, while the new Black Noble starts from £46,495 OTR. Pre-orders are open, with UK deliveries due to begin in August 2026.[1]
What has changed?
A More Refined Flagship
The OMODA 9 was already defined by a long electric range, strong performance and extensive standard equipment. The MY26 programme focuses on the areas guests notice every day: ride quality, steering response, seat comfort, cabin materials and practical use of the high-voltage battery.[1]
The core recipe is unchanged: a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, electric motors and a 34.46kWh battery provide all-wheel-drive performance and the flexibility to complete many journeys without starting the engine.
Rather than making a sweeping redesign, OMODA has concentrated on targeted improvements. That includes a revised suspension and steering calibration, front massage seating, more generous electric adjustment and an upgraded 6.6kW Vehicle-to-Load system.
The new Black Noble then adds a separate visual identity, using a matte black finish and darker detailing throughout the exterior and cabin.[1]
MY26 updates across the range
The Important Changes at a Glance
These upgrades apply to the refreshed MY26 OMODA 9 range rather than only the Black Noble grade.
Retuned Suspension
Independent suspension with Continuous Damping Control has been recalibrated to improve ride composure, body control and refinement.
Updated Steering
A revised steering programme is intended to provide a clearer, more natural sense of connection for the driver.
Front Massage Seats
Massage functionality is added to both front seats, supporting comfort during longer journeys.
Expanded Adjustment
The driver receives eight-way electric adjustment and an electric thigh bolster; the passenger receives six-way adjustment.
Suede Headlining
A new suede cloth headlining raises the perceived quality of the cabin and strengthens the flagship feel.
Heated Windscreen
A heated front windscreen supports faster clearing in colder conditions and improves everyday convenience.
6.6kW V2L
Vehicle-to-Load output rises to 6.6kW, enabling a broader range of compatible electrical equipment to be powered from the vehicle.
Same Strong Value
The updated Noble continues from £44,995 OTR, retaining OMODA's everything-as-standard approach.
New Black Noble grade
A More Distinctive Expression
Black Noble is the design-led version of the updated flagship. Finished in matte Iced Jasper Black, it replaces bright exterior detailing with a darker treatment designed to create a cleaner, more tailored appearance.[1]
The effect is deliberately cohesive rather than limited to paint and wheels. Exterior trim, badges, roof rails and body protection elements are all incorporated into the black-on-black theme, while black suede detailing continues the treatment inside.[2]

Super Hybrid System
Performance Without Losing Electric Usability
The updated OMODA 9 continues with a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine, electric motors and a 34.46kWh battery. OMODA's MY26 announcement quotes up to 449 PS and 700 Nm, delivering 0–62mph in 4.9 seconds.[1]
A compatible rapid charger can take the battery from 30 to 80 per cent in approximately 25 minutes, while the larger V2L output increases the number and type of devices that can be powered away from the mains.[4][5]

Comfort and cabin technology
Premium Equipment Remains Central
The OMODA 9 continues to follow an everything-as-standard philosophy. Heated and ventilated seating, a 14-speaker Sony audio system, head-up display, panoramic roof, 540-degree camera and extensive driver-assistance technology remain part of the flagship package.[3]

Independent UK reaction
Why the Chassis Changes Matter
The most significant MY26 change may be the one guests cannot see. UK reviewers had previously identified ride control and steering feel as areas where the original car could improve.
Auto Express
Auto Express highlighted the revised damping, Continuous Damping Control and updated steering programme as the central technical changes for 2026, noting that OMODA is targeting greater composure, body control and refinement.[5]

Carwow described the adaptive dampers as the update most likely to address previous criticism of body movement and vague steering. It also noted that a full road test will be needed before the improvement can be judged conclusively.[6]
