The registration date is the first detail to check. Mazda introduced the longer UK package for vehicles first registered from 1 September 2025; earlier cars retain the warranty supplied when they were registered. Time and mileage run together, so cover ends when either limit is reached.
| Question | Plain-English answer |
|---|---|
| How long? | Up to six years from first registration. |
| How many miles? | Up to 100,000 miles in total. |
| Which cars? | Eligible Mazda vehicles first registered in the UK from 1 September 2025. |
| What keeps it valid? | Following the prescribed service programme and all warranty conditions. |
| Does it cover wear? | No. Normal maintenance, wear, damage and exclusions remain separate. |
Servicing still matters
Mazda says vehicles should follow the manufacturer service programme. Most Mazda models use intervals of 12 months or 12,500 miles, whichever comes first; Mazda2 Hybrid uses 12 months or 10,000 miles. Confirm the schedule for the exact model because severe-use requirements and time-sensitive items may differ.
Warranty is not a service plan
A manufacturer warranty deals with eligible defects. Routine servicing, tyres, brake friction materials and other wear items are not made free by the six-year headline. Accidental damage, neglect and unauthorised modification can also sit outside cover.
Buying a nearly new Mazda?
Check the first-registration date, current mileage and complete service history. Ask the retailer to confirm remaining manufacturer cover against the vehicle identification number. Electric and hybrid components may have separate terms, so use the model’s warranty booklet for a battery-specific decision.
Four useful ownership habits
- Book servicing before the time or mileage deadline.
- Retain invoices and any inspection or repair documents.
- Report warning lights or faults promptly.
- Read the supplied booklet rather than relying on a headline alone.
