The payment explained
What does £0 Advance Payment mean?
The Advance Payment is an upfront amount required for some Motability cars, in addition to the payments made from your mobility allowance. It is not a refundable deposit.
A £0 Advance Payment car removes that particular upfront charge. Your qualifying allowance still funds the agreed lease payments. The amount of allowance used can vary by vehicle, so ask the team to explain the full payment arrangement for the exact offer.
If two cars have the same Advance Payment, compare their weekly allowance payments and suitability as well. A larger boot or easier seat access may be more valuable to you than a longer equipment list.
Current Scheme information
What is included in a new lease?
Motability’s current Scheme update confirms that insurance for up to three named drivers, servicing and maintenance, and breakdown assistance remain part of the package.
For new standard three-year car leases ordered now, the mileage allowance is 30,000 miles. Tyre replacements are subject to the Scheme’s fair-use limits. If you already have a lease, your existing agreement may have different terms.
Our team can help you check the current package against your expected mileage and the car you want. Ask about adaptations and any charging needs early, so those practical details are part of your decision from the start.
Try the things that matter
Make the showroom visit work for you
Bring any wheelchair, walking aid or other equipment you normally travel with. Try getting in and out, check the seat adjustment and see how much effort loading takes. If someone regularly travels with you, invite them along so you can assess the car together.
