Where does the TIGGO 9 stand out?
A seven-seat SUV has a busy job: family journeys, extra passengers and plenty of everyday luggage. The TIGGO 9 Super Hybrid adds a long official electric range and a generous equipment package to that brief.
For this comparison, we have chosen the UK TIGGO 9 Summit and the Kia Sorento PHEV Pure, Kia’s entry plug-in hybrid grade. Both have all-wheel drive and automatic transmission.

What could the electric range mean for your week?
Compare the length of your usual daily round trip with the two WLTP electric-range figures. If you can charge overnight, the TIGGO 9’s larger electric-range allowance could let you cover more of your routine before needing petrol power.
Neither figure is guaranteed in everyday use. Cold weather, speed, load and climate control affect electric range, and the petrol engine may run when operating conditions require it.
Both cars can continue using petrol when the usable electric charge is depleted. Regular charging is still central to getting the most from a plug-in hybrid; compare your likely electricity and petrol costs, rather than assuming every journey will be electric.
Comfort is part of the TIGGO 9 package
TIGGO 9 Summit includes a panoramic roof, a 15.6-inch central screen and heated and ventilated front seats. Its Sony audio system and front-seat massage functions add to the appeal if you spend a lot of time in the car.
The Sorento Pure has useful standard features too, including heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. Kia reserves some additional comfort equipment for its higher grades. Check the exact specification when comparing an alternative quote.
CHERY also specifies 71 kW DC charging capability and an approximately 20-minute 30–80% charge in suitable conditions. That can make a public top-up worth considering when it fits a stop you already intend to make.
Charging figures are CHERY’s stated figures, not an Invicta charging test. Actual speed and time depend on the charger, battery temperature, state of charge and conditions. Equipment: Invicta TIGGO 9 and Kia UK specification.
Try all seven seats before deciding
Seven seats on a specification sheet are only the start. Check the access to the third row, the room for the people who will use it and the luggage space left when every seat is occupied.
Then fold the seats you would normally leave unused and try your regular bags. If child seats are part of your routine, ask the team to help you check approved fitting positions and access.
Both brands provide a long headline vehicle warranty. That is useful reassurance, but the cover and exclusions are not identical: read Kia’s warranty details alongside CHERY’s published warranty information. Your preferred cabin, seat layout and local support still matter.
