OMODA E5: what the experts say
Current electric-SUV details, independent scores and the checks that matter before you buy.
At a glance
- Current UK range: up to 267 miles WLTP; older launch reviews describe a different version.
- Independent scores: Electrifying 7/10, Carwow 6/10 and Auto Express 3.5/5, with dates and version context.
- Your next step: check the exact trim, everyday controls, passenger space and charging routine.
Read the review date before the range figure
The OMODA E5 has changed since its first UK road tests. Current UK information lists up to 267 miles WLTP, while some launch reviews describe the earlier car’s 257-mile figure. Those are different versions, not contradictory results from an Invicta test.
The useful thread through the reviews is an electric SUV with generous equipment and an approachable cabin. The individual verdicts also give you specific things to try before buying: rear-seat space, screen controls and comfort on your usual roads.

Electrifying
Updated-car review · 10 September 2026
Finds the updated E5 more convincing and highlights useful everyday efficiency, equipment and value. Its road-test economy comes from particular weather and routes, not a guaranteed range for every driver.
Carwow
Review updated 15 October 2025
Recognises a comfortable drive and generous specification, while encouraging buyers to check practicality and some of the technology’s operation. Its score is the publisher’s own assessment.
Auto Express
Launch-car review · 17 October 2024
Praises the cabin’s presentation and performance but identifies ride and control compromises. This test predates the current UK range figure, so its charging and battery details need their original version context.
What the E5 offers today
OMODA’s current UK range lists E5 Knight at £33,065 OTR and Noble at £34,565 OTR, before optional paint and accessories. It is a five-seat, fully electric SUV: there is no petrol engine to refuel.
The current manufacturer WLTP range figure is up to 267 miles. Use that to compare cars under the same laboratory procedure, then allow for weather, motorway speed, passengers and heating when planning your own journeys.
A review of an older trim or launch car can still help with impressions of the cabin, but it is not a substitute for the equipment list on your current quotation.
A battery figure is not the whole journey
Electrifying’s updated-car review describes a 61kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and reports strong efficiency in its warm-weather test. That is useful independent context, not evidence that every guest will reproduce that result.
The more important ownership question is where you will charge. A regular home or workplace connection can make the E5 a convenient daily car; public charging needs a little more attention to location, cost and availability.
Ask our team to show you the battery and charging information for the exact car being quoted. Do not carry an early road test’s peak charging speed over to a later version without checking.
Turn the verdict into a useful visit
Start with the controls you will use every day: connect your compatible phone, find the climate settings and check how the parking display works. Sit behind your normal driving position and see whether the rear seat suits your passengers.
Then consider the trim upgrade. A well-equipped review car may be Noble rather than Knight, so confirm the seats, roof and other comfort features against the exact UK specification.
OMODA’s headline vehicle cover is seven years or 100,000 miles; its EV battery cover is eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first, subject to the applicable conditions. Check those terms alongside your charging plan and complete quotation.
