MG IM6: parking made simpler
A large SUV should fit your daily routine as well as your luggage. The MG IM6 combines four-wheel steering with parking assistance designed for awkward spaces.
At a glance
- Standard across the UK range: intelligent four-wheel steering and One Touch iAD parking assistance.
- More useful visibility: front and rear sensors plus a 360° camera with a transparent-chassis view.
- Try your own scenario: discuss your garage, driveway or regular parking space before choosing.
What does One Touch iAD include?
MG’s UK specification lists Park, Curbside Parking, Pull Out and Reverse functions under One Touch iAD automatic park assistance.
It is useful to distinguish those tasks. Parking into a bay, adjusting alongside a kerb and leaving a tight space are different manoeuvres.
Ask the team to show which function suits each situation, how to start it and how to stop it. Follow the current handbook’s operating conditions.
Why four-wheel steering matters
The IM6’s intelligent four-wheel steering changes the way the rear wheels contribute to a manoeuvre. MG lists it as standard on Long Range, Performance and Launch Edition.
The UK brochure quotes a 10.18-metre turning circle across those versions. That is a useful figure to discuss if your usual route includes tight entrances or multi-storey car parks.
It does not make the body narrower. Check the physical space for the mirrors and doors as well as the room needed to turn.
Use the camera as another view
Front and rear parking sensors work alongside a 360° camera with a transparent-chassis view. The manufacturer’s illustration shows how the system combines views around the vehicle.
MG explains that camera coverage is limited and may not show every obstacle. Keep checking the surroundings directly, including people approaching the car.
During a demonstration, compare the display with what you can see outside. Understanding its coverage is more useful than simply finding the camera button.
Check the space you use most
MG quotes a body width of 1,988mm, or 2,190mm including the mirrors. Take the brochure dimensions with you when measuring a garage or narrow entrance.
Also allow room to get in and out, reach the charging connection and open the tailgate. A car can fit between the walls while leaving an awkward daily routine.
If you are comparing versions, Launch Edition’s air-suspension specification is a separate consideration. You do not need that trim simply to obtain the listed parking and steering features.
Make your appointment practical
Tell your Invicta MG team about the parking task you want to try. Confirm the available IM6 version and a suitable appointment first.
Then compare the current IM6 range and MG offers around your priorities for range, performance and comfort.
