CHERY has unveiled the TIGGO X7, the first model in its new TIGGO X series, combining everyday family practicality with a more adventurous character.

Revealed in Wuhu, China, on 21 October 2026, it appeared alongside what CHERY describes as the all-new TIGGO 7. The manufacturer positions the X7 as a family SUV intended to bring together urban comfort and journeys across varied road conditions. Read CHERY’s announcement.

A more rugged design

The TIGGO X7 makes a strong first impression with its upright proportions, pronounced wheelarches and distinctive front grille.

Protective-looking body cladding, roof rails and chunky tyres reinforce the outdoor theme. Its squared-off silhouette gives it a noticeably different character from the more rounded TIGGO 7.

The styling may bring established adventure SUVs such as the Land Rover Defender and Toyota Land Cruiser to mind. Whether it becomes a direct alternative will depend on its final specification, capability and price.

What do we know about its capability?

Early coverage from Auto Express reports increased ground clearance, six terrain-focused driving modes and a maximum towing capacity of 1,500kg. The named settings include snow, mud, sand, rocks and water wading.

These are reported reveal details rather than confirmed UK specifications. Buyers interested in towing or off-road use will need the final market-specific figures before deciding whether the X7 suits their needs.

Family practicality inside

Auto Express also reports a five-seat cabin with digital instruments and a central touchscreen, alongside door-mounted electric seat controls.

That suggests a familiar family-SUV layout beneath the tougher exterior. Final equipment levels and powertrain details will be particularly relevant if the model is introduced here.

CHERY’s global launch announcement does not confirm a UK on-sale date, price or final UK specification.

The reveal offers an early look at the brand’s plans. UK availability and ordering information will need to be confirmed separately.
